SALVORIA 2K25 National Seminar

On March 12th, 2025, I had the immense privilege of attending and participating in SALVORIA 2K25, an exclusive seminar and paper presentation event. Organized by the Department of Homoeopathic Repertory in association with IQAC at White Memorial Homoeo Medical College & Hospital (WMHMC), the event was a grand gathering of homoeopathic practitioners, academicians, and students.
The event held special significance as it was dedicated to celebrating the 240th Birthday of Dr. Clemens Maria Franz von Boenninghausen, a monumental pioneer in our field. It was inspiring to see the homoeopathic community come together to honor his legacy through continued academic learning.
Insightful Seminar by Dr. K. Srinivasan
The highlight of the day was an in-depth seminar led by the Chief Speaker, Dr. K. Srinivasan, MD (Hom), a distinguished practitioner with over 25 years of clinical excellence.
Dr. Srinivasan delivered a highly informative session titled: "Knerr’s Repertory of Hering’s Guiding Symptoms of our Materia Medica." He provided an excellent introduction to the theory behind the repertory, detailed usage guidelines, and backed it up with practical, real-world clinical cases. His expertise on specialized topics—ranging from Boger Boenninghausen’s Characteristics to innovative approaches with Birth Salts and Zodiac Bach Flower remedies—gave us all fresh perspectives to take back to our clinics.
My Paper Presentation
One of the most fulfilling moments of SALVORIA 2K25 for me was actively participating in the paper presentation session on stage. I had the opportunity to present my research paper titled: "Assessing the Antimicrobial Potential of Myristica sebifera: Methodological Considerations for Homeopathic Research."
Research Summary
The search for alternative therapies to combat antimicrobial resistance has drawn attention to homeopathic remedies, but their validation requires reliable experimental methods. My study aimed to explore the in vitro antimicrobial potential of Myristica sebifera across various potencies (6C, 12C, 30C, 200C, and 1000C) using the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method against organisms like Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans.
The study observed limited antimicrobial activity, with the most notable inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus at 30C potency (1 cm). These results highlighted that the varying potencies of homeopathic remedies may not always align seamlessly with the concentration-based assumptions of the Kirby-Bauer method.
While the study offered preliminary insights into the antimicrobial effects of Myristica sebifera, it primarily demonstrated the methodological limitations of applying conventional assays to homeopathy. It points to a crucial need for future research utilizing more suited techniques—like broth dilution assays or molecular studies—to better evaluate and capture the nuanced effects of homeopathic medicines.
Sharing my insights and research findings with an audience of esteemed faculty and peers was deeply rewarding. The session concluded on a high note as I was honored to receive my certificate of presentation on stage from the dignitaries—a proud moment that reinforces my dedication to continuous learning and empirical research in homoeopathy.
A Heartwarming Reunion
Academic events are not just about the lectures; they are about the vibrant community. A wonderful, unexpected highlight of the day was bumping into familiar faces!
I had a fantastic time catching up with several of my seniors from my previous institution, Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College. We spent time reminiscing about our college days, sharing our current professional journeys, and, of course, capturing the moment with some great group selfies. It was a beautiful reminder of the strong, supportive bonds we build within the homoeopathic fraternity.
SALVORIA 2K25 was flawlessly organized under the profound guidance of Dr. Leela Bai Rajendran (Chairperson, WMEI) and the entire organizing committee. Between the rich academic knowledge shared, the thrill of presenting my own methodological paper, and the joy of a mini-reunion, it was an incredibly enriching day.
