Passport Size Photo Template

This passport size photo template was created for the FOCAL (Free and Open-source Creative Art Library) project during the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2020.

The Problem

Anyone who has tried to print passport photos at home or edit them for a studio knows the tedious process: cropping the image to the exact ratio, creating a new canvas for the print paper (e.g., A4 or 4x6), and manually duplicating and aligning the photo multiple times to fill the sheet. It's repetitive and prone to misalignment.

The Solution

I designed a reusable GIMP template to automate this workflow. The template uses a predefined grid with guide lines. Users simply insert their photo once, and the template allows for easy replication and alignment across the page, ready for printing. This turns a 20-minute manual task into a 2-minute workflow.
