FOSSEE Promotional Poster

About This Piece
Designing a poster for FOSSEE (IIT Bombay) felt less like a design job and more like propaganda for a revolution—the Open Source Revolution.
The Mission
The prompt was loud and clear: "Involve, Innovate, Inspire." They needed a poster that would make students stop scrolling (or walking) and care about Python, Scilab, and Blender.
Design with "Zero Budget" Tools
I designed this entirely in Inkscape and GIMP. No Photoshop. No Illustrator.
- The Aesthetic: I went for a gritty, "revolution" vibe with distressed typography. I wanted it to look less like a corporate flyer and more like a call to action.
- The Tech Stack: The sidebar isn't just a list; it's a trophy case of the tools FOSSEE champions.
Why it Matters
This wasn't just pixel pushing. It was about proving that you can create "Industry Standard" designs without paying the "Industry Standard" tax.
