About This Piece

This elegant wedding invitation template was created for the FOCAL (Free and Open-source Creative Art Library) project during the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2020.

The Objective

To design a printable, customizable wedding invitation card using open-source vector tools, featuring intricate floral elements and typography.

The Design

The design focuses on sophistication and reusability:

  • Floral Vector Art: Custom-drawn foliage elements that frame the text, created using Inkscape's bezier tools.
  • Typography: carefully selected font pairings to convey formal elegance.
  • Double-Sided Layout: Includes designs for both the front cover and the inner details page.

I created a tutorial to demonstrate how to draw organic floral shapes and arrange text for a balanced layout in Inkscape.
