IoT Heart Rate Monitor (Internshala Winner)

2019
Videography, Tutorial

About This Piece

This project was created for the Internshala InnOvaTe Challenge, where I applied my learnings from an IoT course to the medical field. The project concept was to build a system that monitors heart rate 24x7 and sends automated alerts (SMS/Email) if abnormalities are detected.

Recognition

I won 3rd Prize in the Internshala InnOvaTe Challenge (and a grand prize of ₹10,000) for this submission.

The Project

The system uses the BoltIoT platform to interface with a heart rate sensor. The logic involves:

  1. Continuously monitoring pulse data.
  2. Setting thresholds for "normal" ranges.
  3. Triggering alerts via API calls (Twilio/Mailgun) when data exceeds thresholds.

Note: A detailed technical breakdown of this project is available in the Technology section. This page focuses on the video presentation created for the competition.

Competition Entry

The main video submitted for the specific requirement of showcasing the project in a short format.

Detailed Explanation

After seeing my competition entry, my cousin (who was working in education) requested a more detailed walkthrough. I created this follow-up video to explain the technical implementation in depth.
